To celebrate the World Day for the Environment, we give the tribune to Isaac, a young engineer involved… Engaged to save the Lake of Dang in his country, Cameroun!

“The lake of Dang is rather close to the Ngaoundéré city in North Cameroun. It’s a natural lake where many types of animals and vegetal species share. It’s a very special ecosystem particularly due to the the cohabitation of various unique living animals. It counts nenuphars, many fishes, snakes, frogs… Before, hippo used to come but they don’t anymore because the water is not clean enough or rich enough…
Some times ago, human planted eucalyptus, it’s been a tragedy for the lake, it came everywhere and now the lake suffers of euthrophication. Every year, the lake is getting smaller and dryer. It is more and more polluted and now, people don’t come anymore since it brings disease due to the poor quality of the water…
It’s really a shame.
Every year, I come and I see how much the lake is smaller. I think it’s now time to act not to think! The Lake of Dang needs for actions, very important actions otherwise, it will disapear!”
Watch Isaac on the lake with a fisherman:
His call to save the Lake (In French: “Sauvons le Lac de Dang“)
